New Sports Director of Miracle Değirmenlik Sports Club: Tugay Kerimoğlu
Former national football player Tugay Kerimoğlu became the new sports director of the Cyprus team Miracle Değirmenlik Sports Club. The former football player, who attended his new team's training at Sadık Cemil Stadium, examined the field and met with the players.
After meeting with the team, new sports director Tugay Kerimoğlu stated that president Hakan Törehan had many projects, and that he was very excited when he received the offer.
Stating that he devoted his life to football and that this passion continued in both his player and manager careers, Tugay Kerimoğlu said, “First of all, I would like it to be known that I am happy to return to the green fields. Miracle Değirmenlik Sports Club is quite remarkable with its professional and innovative management. Our President Mr. Hakan Törehan and our Vice President Ebru Törehan approach football with a completely new understanding. This is the biggest factor in why I accepted the position of Sporting Director. Miracle Değirmenlik Sports Club is a rising value of Cypriot football and I am happy and proud to be a part of it.”
Tugay Kerimoğlu's coaching career
Kerimoğlu, who has previously coached three teams, first served as assistant to coach Mark Hughes at Manchester City between June 2009 and December 2009.
After working as assistant coach of Manchester City, Tugay Kerimoğlu served as assistant coach at Galatasaray, where he is a legend, for two terms. Kerimoğlu served as an assistant coach in the yellow-red team first between 2010-12 and then in the 2013-14 season.
Tugay Kerimoğlu last worked as a coach at Şanlıurfaspor in the 2015-16 season. Kerimoğlu played with his team in 23 matches and achieved an average of 0.91 points.
